JUSTIN ANDRUSHKO ANNOUNCED as adult contact RUNNING BACKS CoaCH
We are delighted to announce Justin Andrushko as the new Running Backs Coach at the Newcastle Vikings.
Justin grew up in British Columbia, Canada, and has over 17 years of playing and coaching experience. In high school Justin led the province in rushing yards each of his three seasons, broke the school rushing record two years in a row, and was just short of tallying 2400 yards rushing in strike-shortened season. In 2005 Justin broke the provincial record for rushing yards in a single game with 441 yards, was named team MVP, conference All-Star MVP and named the most-valuable offensive player on the 2005 provincial All-star team.
After high school Justin Attended the University of Waterloo and the University of British Columbia where he served primarily as a kick returner and running back. In 2010, although going undrafted, Justin was named a top 10 running back in the CFL pre-draft ranking. Justin played football in Europe for the Seinäjoki Crocodiles of the Finish Maple League prior to retiring from the sport as a player.
Justin has served as a running backs coach at the high school level in addition to coaching various football camps across North America.
Justin holds a doctorate and masters degree in kinesiology, specialising in neuromuscular physiology. Justin is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sports, Exercise and Rehabilitation at Northumbria University.

“I’m delighted that Justin has agreed to come on board as Running Backs coach. He has a wealth of international experience as both a player and a coach and I can’t wait to see the impact he will have on our Running Back room.”

“I am honored to join the Newcastle Vikings as the new Running Back coach for the 2024 season. With over 17 years of playing experience behind me as a running back and kick returner at the collegiate and semi-pro levels in Canada and Finland, I aim to leverage my years of experience to enrich our team’s run game and team success.
It’s clearly an exciting time for the Newcastle Vikings, as we aim to build on last seasons success and continue the winning culture following last years promotion to the Premier Division.
